As a Program Manager, I’ve had direct access to government customers, real influence over product direction, and the ability to move resources quickly to meet emerging needs. Leadership is hands-on, accessible, and genuinely committed to both the warfighter and the team. The work is fast-paced, meaningful, and you’re surrounded by a team that believes in collaboration over competition.

Cons

With our size and operational tempo, some traditional corporate processes like onboarding, benefits management, and cross-functional standardization are still maturing. At times, internal priorities may compete without full alignment, which can create ambiguity unless proactively managed — but leadership consistently prioritizes professionalizing the business and building scalable processes as a core corporate objective.

I’ve had a very positive experience working for Sherpa 6 so far. The company culture is fantastic — collaborative, inclusive, and genuinely supportive. Leadership truly cares about employee growth and provides clear guidance while encouraging autonomy. The flexible work environment makes balancing personal and professional life much easier, which I really appreciate. There’s a strong focus on goal setting that helps keep everyone aligned and motivated. Overall, it’s been a great place to grow and contribute. I'm proud to be a Sherpa!

Cons

Every company has areas to develop as it grows, and while that’s true here at Sherpa 6, I’m genuinely satisfied with the leadership’s vision and the support I’ve received so far.

Pros

Work from home is a benefit. A lot of technical knowledge to grasp and high pace agile environment, which can be a pro/con. Leadership within software engineering was patient and willing to help.

Cons

Due to inconsistent funding and shifting priorities, team placements were often sporadic. I was frequently reassigned between projects, making it challenging to gain continuity or deep familiarity with specific tech stacks. There was often an expectation to ramp up quickly with limited onboarding, which created obstacles to long-term success. Additionally, several colleagues who were laid off experienced abrupt offboarding, with company devices being shut off almost immediately — the process was intense and unsettling for many.
