Pros

Strong Financial performance, Gaining market share, enjoyable customer relationships. Decent pay if budgets are obtained.

Cons

Many District managers and Vice Presidents of sales who practice negative reinforcement management styles as they like to keep you "shaking in your shoes" as a means of motivation. This combined with a subjective performance appraisal process can make things much more stressful then they should be. Micro Management, too focused on lead generation forcing 100+ cold calls per week. Long store hours. Has strong focus on hiring women and minorities not necessarily the best candidate.

It can be good, it can be very bad.

Pros

Competitive pay and bonus structure. Opportunities for advancement. Benefits are average. Co-workers are usually pretty great.

Cons

Hours are horrendous for anyone with a family. I find myself working 12 hour shifts and entire weekends for a month at a time because turnover can be high among the part time workers and restrictions on hiring can be stifling. Some times you are beholden to a terrible manager with very little recourse.
