Pros

-If you want to move up, you can. -You get as much out of the job as you put in. -Stores work on a team mentality which makes the job fun (if you've got a good team). -Good employee discount. -They tend to hire from within. -Upper management has respect for in-store sales associates.

Cons

-Moving up generally requires a BA. -They tend to hire from within, but not all the time. Sometimes Mangers-In-Training were poppin' fresh out of college--and had ZERO experience with paints, chemicals, and customer service. -Terrible color choices for store interiors--makes advising customers on color combinations difficult. Makes us look like we don't know what we're talking about.
