Pros

All part-time jobs are not created equal, this is a very good place for college-age/young adult worker interested in retail sales. Good in-store training trickled down from knowledgeable managers will get you comfortable and confident with the commercial/residential painting industry.

Cons

Can be under-staffed and busy during busy seasons, and a bit of micro-managing from the Regional Level.

Pros

Sherwin Williams has a friendly staff and management, if you take the time to talk to them. The HR will work with you to find ways to promote growth. High potential for growth. Great benefits and pay for the industry.

Cons

Never know what the day will be like. It can be nonstop, fast paced or just a handful of the usual customers and a lot of nothing. Depends on your store size and location

Pros

Like stated before huge company with job security. Sherwin is eating up smaller paint companies and spreading its wings. Work within a small crew at the store which created a close knit group. You meet people from all walks of life and create relationships with customers. You get sales experience that would come in handy anywhere else.

Cons

I've been working for two years at sherwin and have never felt like my job was at risk. I love working at Sherwin. However, I've been part-time for 2 years. I've applied from within to try and grab the next step of the ladder for a full-time or assistant manager position with no luck. I'm professional, knowledgeable and competent in my position. I feel like I stand out but Upper management tends to already have a selected person in mind to fill positions posted. The job can get a little repetitive/boring if you work in a smaller store.
