Pros

Sherwin is a great place to work. There are many perks for working for the largest paint company in the US including great benefits (401k, pension, health), paint discounts, and competitive salaries. I also find there is a lot of opportunity for growth at Sherwin and advancement is greatly encouraged and promoted.

Cons

This is all perspective, but one con about the headquarters is that they are located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Being from another area of the country it took me a little while to adjust to such a downtrodden city.

Pros

I started as an intern then stayed on as a part-time sales associate. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like working at Sherwin Williams. It's a very casual work environment, and I love the people I work with, which is a pretty diverse group of individuals.

Cons

It seems like the only way to get information about what's going on in the company is through the grapevine, so there's a lot of gossip and talking behind people's backs. It also seems like the upper management change things simply for the sake of changing them, which is just an inconvenience for the people who work in the retail stores. The uniformity of the stores can be a positive, but sometimes it's just a nuisance and impractical.
