Pros

This is a great job out of college, but also has the potential to be long term career move. Many people stick around in this company for a long time because there are so many benefits to staying. Career growth and great upper management can be hard to find in a company, but Sherwin-Williams has both of those going for it. I felt like people actually cared about me here and that I was not just an asset that could be tossed aside at any point.

Cons

Retail obviously has it's challenges with crummy hours and oddly scheduled work weeks. Although it can be fairly easy for a recent college grad to become a manager and make good money quickly, it can be difficult to make significantly more money after this without a fairly big promotion (many times requiring relocation). Many managers get caught between the range of $55,000-$75,000/per year for a long time.

Pros

Pay is great. Vacation is good. Stock options are amazing. Sales Reps get Car, Gas Card, Cell phone, company AMEX, and a WORLD OF HEADACHE.

Cons

Clients are unsavory unpleasant individuals of the automotive industry. You're expected to learn everything in the world about the automotive industry. The industry is overly competitive to everyone's detriment. You spend way to much time stressing, and never have any free time. Company makes horrible decisions as a whole.

Pros

The benefits including the stock match and excellent coworkers

Cons

Understaffed stores, unrealistic goals for budget in markets, district management will not fight for you, morale is at an all-time low, WORK-LIFE balance is horrible, if you're an assistant manager, get used to working by yourself a lot because your manager is forced to spend more time out of the store to a sales rep job, if your a manager, you also are a de facto sales rep, sales reps are just sales reps..it goes on and on....
