Pros

- great for slackers!! - work life balance because there isn't much to do. - current stock price. - work iPhone - choice between mac and windows laptop(some IT groups) - work from home

Cons

- Bureaucracy...nothing ever gets done. - Hierarchical.... you will be treated based on your designation. If you don't have manager title, good luck. - Culture of arrogance, bully and intimidation. The mid level managers and their bosses, and long timers are terrible in that respect. Lot of insecurities all around. Not everyone though. Some are nice. - IT management is very old school. Not a very progressive IT development strategy or vision. Most IT managers are there only for themselves, and don't bother or care much to make things(system/processes etc) better or people who report to them. - No real incentive in being proactive nor there is any motivation to give your best. Terrible politics all around. Total downer for developers. Not a place for doers. - Club culture. It's about who you know. Rampant favoritism.
