      Great leadership team, ability to move internally to experience different teams and challenges, flexible remote work policy.

      Cons

      Frequent change and re-organizations can mean your direct manager will change every few years.

      Pros

      Okay life work balance if you are on the right team. Pay is okay if you joined at the right time.

      Cons

      Data science is second class citizens at Shopify. You are hired for your ML skills but you will be asked to do BI work and work on adhoc analysis all the time. CEO spent a weekend learning python, smart as he (thinks) he is, he now knows everything data science. Thus he concluded data scientists are useless.

      1. Extremely flexible environment 2. Lot of interesting problems to work on 3. Very smart colleagues to work with

      1. My immediate manager's actions were arbitrary (did not get good clarity on end goals or what was expected of me) 2. Never got to have a conversation with my skip manager as he was too busy
