The supportive environment of people who are there to genuinely support students to reach their fullest potential, their dreams, and academic and life endeavors.

Cons

Student Leaders are students first & foremost and do a lot of work for the whole student community! Much-needed diversity, community, and inclusion training for all student leader positions. Must firmly advocate for yourself esp. if you are treated unfairly or have an issue with your department team--find your allies and friends to support you. Beware of faculty power imbalances, especially leadership who power trip... know one former director who was a major bully and made student workers feel disposable due to a personal projection of how they were treated by former bosses. FYI, the workplace isn't The Devil Wears Prada. IYKYK
