Great engineers, absent management, layoffs always lurking

Pros

Some of the best engineers I've ever worked with. Some teams have great camaraderie (trauma bonded, maybe?). Cool technology being developed.

Cons

Extremely poor management. Company "leadership" only cares about their IPO bonuses. The instant you are no longer immediately needed on a program, you're laid off. If you don't believe me, take a look at how many layoffs they've had the last two years, including one the DAY AFTER shipping the Dream Chaser. 2024 bonuses have been deferred to 2027 (at the earliest, and still unlikely). More and more RSU's are promised, but then ultimately not awarded. Then the existing RSU's are further devalued to the point that they are joked about internally as monopoly money. Tuition reimbursement cancelled mid-semester. The beatings continue until morale improves. Dream Chaser is an anchor around the company's neck.

Solid engineering talent. 401K is good even though they cut it in 2026. Tight culture that involves multiple levels of org. Having interviewed recently, learned pay is good.

Cons

Simply put...... the multiple and continued layoffs hurt. Hard to believe leadership when reorgs and layoffs keep happening.
