Pros

- Hard to find a better first place to work for any hardware engineer - Many experienced engineers from the old Sony Ericsson days (company origin) - All necessary competences under one roof, makes product development very efficient - Fantastic labs for all HW disciplines - Good social benefits

Cons

- Salaries could be better - The most engaged and skilled engineers are taken for granted - The nature of the business means short term profits always wins over long term investments, this is sometimes very frustrating

Nice people, substandard pay

Business Outlook

Pros

- Good atmosphere at work - High competence among engineers - Good life/work balance - Very diverse company with people from a lot of different backgrounds.

Cons

- Substandard pay for more senior admin roles. If you are a good engineer you can get a ok salary - Work during evening time can occur due to time zone difference - You need to navigate office politics to be successful - Weak senior management based on who-knows-who

Worst place to work

Business Outlook

Pros

Free fruits and snacks in office.

Cons

This company is a joke when it comes to professionalism. Most employees don’t even hold degrees and are simply high school graduates, with very little technical knowledge or skill. Management and HR are more interested in gossip and mocking others than actually doing their jobs. Layoffs often seem based on personal dislikes rather than performance, which is the peak of unprofessionalism. The workplace culture is toxic and unproductive —full of gossip, loud laughter (to the point that it startles the entire office) and chatter, and backstabbing. It feels less like an office and more like a tea party. The company has been in loss for a lot of years and they just lay off people every quarter to meet their goals.
