Pros

SVB/First Citizens will grow after the SVB failure and subsequent acquisition in March 2023. SVB is a good place to work - especially if you are young in our career or fed up with big bank corporate culture. Culture at SVB is positive, highly inclusive, progressive, teamwork is strong and encouraged. SVB is a leader in what it does and is likely to remain so. Competition strong after many SVBers left when bank failed/acquired but SVB still #1 in its markets.

Cons

Sales in Product area is not a priority for senior Product management. Focus is rather on online/digital solutions. Little room to advance career beyond Sr. Sales. Management has the right intentions but weak in many areas - especially first line and other mid-level management. Lots of shooting from the hip, making decisions with little consideration to long-term objectives (which are often opaque). Basic understanding of what SVB does and how to communicate with clients is lost on Product leadership- who live in a digital world.
