Pros

Strong leadership accessibility and a genuinely team-oriented culture. Even as the company has grown, it still maintains a close-knit environment where employees feel valued instead of treated like a number. The executive team remains approachable and engaged, which is rare in aviation. Beautiful Santa Barbara location, great office atmosphere, supportive coworkers, and a high level of operational knowledge across departments. The company invests in people, collaboration, and creating an environment that feels professional but still personal and human.

Cons

Private aviation is a true 24/7 industry, so the pace can be demanding and expectations can shift quickly depending on operational needs, owners, weather, and maintenance events. Like most Part 135 environments, there are periods of high pressure and long hours, especially during growth phases or operational disruptions. Employees who prefer highly structured or low-intensity environments may find the pace challenging.

Pros

It is a stepping stone to further my career.

Cons

Silver Air faces a severe and deep-rooted issue with employee retention, particularly among those outside the company's upper management. During my time there, I’ve witnessed an alarming turnover rate driven by poor work-life balance, inadequate pay, and a significant lack of trust in leadership. Silver Air’s apparent practice of forcing out good employees is even more troubling. I'm sharing this review because I've learned that Silver Air has actively encouraged certain employees to leave positive feedback here. Genuine employee satisfaction doesn’t need to be prompted or forced. Employees will voluntarily celebrate their workplace if a company’s culture is solid. Here’s my honest assessment of Silver Air: * Silver Air has a deeply rooted cultural problem, starting directly with its upper management. * Employees are forced to operate in a climate of intimidation and fear of retaliation. * Talented, hardworking colleagues aren’t valued—they’re systematically pushed out. * When another capable individual was recently dismissed, management tried to pass it off as them “starting their own company,” a transparent and feeble attempt at saving face. * Employees see right through the toxic patterns. Two years ago, I witnessed Silver Air force out a leader in this role. * The position itself has cycled through more than four occupants in five years—a glaring sign of ongoing instability. * Silver Air’s reputation speaks volumes: it is rapidly gaining traction as one of the worst workplaces in the industry, plagued by instability, fear, and a culture of corruption perpetuated from the very top.

Type A Personalities Wanted

Pros

10 days off a month, 6% match on 401K, Good Co-Works; they have knack for hiring good people.

Cons

Operations Department has a minimal roll in company decision making. Thus, Type A personalities wanted, more so than most Part 135 companies.
