Pros

10 days off a month, 6% match on 401K, Good Co-Works; they have knack for hiring good people.

Cons

Operations Department has a minimal roll in company decision making. Thus, Type A personalities wanted, more so than most Part 135 companies.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I can agree that Silver Air’s fast-paced, Type A environment isn’t for everyone, but for those who thrive here, it’s an engaging and rewarding place to work. We appreciate your acknowledgment of our benefits and our efforts in hiring great people. Pros

Strong leadership accessibility and a genuinely team-oriented culture. Even as the company has grown, it still maintains a close-knit environment where employees feel valued instead of treated like a number. The executive team remains approachable and engaged, which is rare in aviation. Beautiful Santa Barbara location, great office atmosphere, supportive coworkers, and a high level of operational knowledge across departments. The company invests in people, collaboration, and creating an environment that feels professional but still personal and human.

Cons

Private aviation is a true 24/7 industry, so the pace can be demanding and expectations can shift quickly depending on operational needs, owners, weather, and maintenance events. Like most Part 135 environments, there are periods of high pressure and long hours, especially during growth phases or operational disruptions. Employees who prefer highly structured or low-intensity environments may find the pace challenging.

Pros

When I started the culture was fun and the people were great. We could rely on each other.

Cons

Leadership became an issue. No comfort in talking to HR or a manager about issues. Very hierarchical. Everyone seemed to disapprove of the CEO. He was not approachable. HR asked us at one point to post positive reviews here on Glassdoor. That left a bad taste.
