Pros

Great culture. The CEO is the real deal and down to earth values. Sincerely care about the employees. Simmons has the potential to be one of the best places to work and thrive.

Cons

Simmons has the potential to be one of the best places to work and thrive, except in IT where management will not get out of the way and let you do your job. If you're looking for Best Practices or Development Standards along with peer code reviews, keep looking because as I was told, "They're not needed or necessary here." This is one area where "free-thinkers" are not welcome and every meeting is started with a "chant". The IT dept has those that do not understand or really care about IT, it's all about power and how to keep that power. The unspoken philosophy is to surround yourself with others that also do not come from IT backgrounds but out of the factories instead. One critical word will get you tossed.

Pros

Good pay for full- time employees.

Cons

Over-staffed, inept management. Leave temp employees on "temp status" for 12+ months @ minimum wage. Plant runs heavy on "good 'ol boy" system. Poor management to subordinate communication.

Terrible Management within the business.

Pros

Company is growing. Competitive pay. Strong corporate values. Great Executives.

Cons

Poor Management as we start to move down the ladder. Executives put in a No Fear policy, which disappears the moment you walk into one of the plants. Lack of communication across the board. High favoritism. Managers also do a terrible job of following procedures, which trickles down to the common hourly employees. HR doesn’t hire, multiple positions open for months at a time, which causes current employees to work 6 days/7 days a week. Turn Over rate is extremely high. Operations runs the show, tells QA what to release or what to put on hold. Operations falsify documentation, which leaves QA with no room for traceability. Company is one FDA pop up or major audit from being shut down. Operations tell HR who to hire or fire. When it comes to being hired, or promoted. Operations has a say even if your department is XYZ. Operations tells Procurement what to buy. Managers think they know everything so you can’t make suggestions or ideas which hurts the company. Ideas you do decide you want to bring forward goes into the trash. There’s supposed to be a checks and balances system to stop one group or person from having all the power but that’s exactly what happen. Operations runs everything, and whoever is the leader of operations is GOD
