Pros

Leadership responds to feedback and continues to improve Compensation was decent and there were regular raises and promotions Culture of self-care and learning is genuine

Cons

As an engineer, it often feels like you're just a cog in the machine. We were moved around and tossed on teams without much input. Being laid off is never enjoyable, but waking up to an email saying "today is your last day" is way more impersonal and disrespectful than I would have expected from a company that treated me well throughout my time at Simon. There was no clear rationale behind the layoff - was there poor performance? was there something lacking? In a culture of leaning, I would have expected at least some feedback here. There is a clear lack of diversity in throughout the company, especially within leadership.

Pros

Great onboarding experience: initial weeks were set up for onboarding meetings, training, and setting up local environment. Great culture: the team prioritizes collaboration and learning. Leadership actually listens to feedback and takes action. Diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) is taken seriously and has impact.

Cons

Compensation is quite decent, but may be a bit under industry standard. Turnover felt high in the last year (2021-2022), though the pandemic could be a major contributor.

Pros

As a woman of color with a hefty # of very visible tattoos, I've never been made to feel uncomfortable about my identity. I actually feel valued and respected here Leadership is open, friendly, and down-to-earth. Really impressive level of involvement from execs with DEI events. They care more about company culture than other places I've worked at As long as you're vocal about your professional objectives and what you'd like to learn, managers and higher-ups will actually invest resources to help you achieve your goals. Also, they offer Professional Development stipends - big plus.

Cons

The work here is scrappy and can seem amorphous but that's the fun part of it all. Who doesn't like a good puzzle?
