Higher than average pay for the role

This company appears to be growing at breakneck speed, adding employees by the numbers. I'm sure they have some hits in terms of staffing projects but they also have some serious misses. If you happen to land in a "miss", it is brutal. The project I joined was led by an incompetent SA and all junior consultants. It was shocking when compared with the teams I have worked with in the past. Especially given that the SA was sold as "having worked with CPQ for years with a lot of knowledge, expertise, and delivery experience". Unfortunately, his knowledge was narrow, limited and outdated. He should never have been staffed in that role. Also, the onboarding process is disorganized and you have no idea what is coming. Internal IT support is a joke and HR is slow to respond. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Pros

The company used to be a fine place to work. Salary and benefits are reasonable. I worked with some great consultants.

Cons

Since the company was acquired, things have gone downhill quickly. Most of the talented consultants and architects have left. That means they don't have enough skilled people, so untrained resources are tossed onto complex projects. That causes a terrible work environment and angry customers, which is the reason I left. It's unfair to clients and employees, which is causing people to quit, which continues the cycle.

Simplus has experienced quite a bit of change in this past year, in part due to COVID and our recent merger and acquisition with Infosys. We are excited about what our new Simplus will look like and have seen some expected turnover in our workforce due to the recent changes. As with any consulting company, resourcing can be challenging, but we are confident in our ability to either build up talent from the inside or find the right talent, including those with expansive CPQ knowledge, to add to our teams for both our current and future clients. Simplus prides itself on being #1 in the Salesforce ecosystem in terms of CPQ projects.

Pros

Independence, possible to shine if you have bare minimum consulting skills

Cons

No consulting maturity around process, documentation, or management. Very low quality work is delivered to clients due to a lack of expertise, very high turnover, and poor collaboration with the largest part of the workforce, which is offshore. Executives and middle management are mediocre, but loyal, so that means we're stuck with the same lack of vision. To top it all off, we've been sold out to Infosys, and it's clear no one is happy about that other than the investors. No real diversity unless you count the offshore resources in the Philippines.
