Pros

- Flexibility - plenty of choice whether to work from home or in the office. Also just introduced 'flexi time' where you can are given 11.5 hrs per quarter to book off as you please. I.e - need to take an hour out here or there and book with just an hour notice. This is great! - Generous benefits package - 25 days annual leave with the option to buy 5 more. Great pension contributions (5%), plus a catalogue of benefits that you can pick n mix from. - Good pay, inline with industry. - Supportive employer - if you need to make adjustments to the way you work or need equipment to do your job

Cons

- Very much 'face that fits' with career progression. Plenty of development time but very little opportunity to progress. No loyalty over internal candidates sometimes. - The culture being the main thing keeping me working here for so many years died with CV19 and management are doing too little too late to reignite this. - The company has gone from being a knowledgeable insurance consultancy business to a generic call centre - it's purely a numbers game. Quality of work and knowledge of products doesn't matter. - In a day to day role, employees are just a resource, not an asset. - Micro-management at it's finest. You are told exactly what time you can take a break, what time to be on the phone, what time do to admin work - I get this due to resourcing on the phones. But to start getting funny when some is a minute late here or there, regardless if they constantly turn up to work early or stay late is a bit much. It's give and take. Worse still, you are targeted for how many tasks you complete in an hour (numbers game), rather than what value your work brings to the business.

Could be great but unwilling to change

Pros

-Some great colleagues who really care about each other. -Benefits and bonus are comprehensive

Cons

-The company culture was diffused. There was no clear sense of direction or purpose, and employees were often doubling up on projects that others were working on. -There was a lack of collaboration. Employees were often working in silos, and there was little communication or cooperation between teams. This made it difficult to get things done, and it led to a lot of wasted time and resources. -The middle manager was toxic and bullying. This person was known for their aggressive behaviour, and they would often belittle and humiliate employees in front of others. This created a very negative and hostile work environment. The HR team was aware of the toxic manager's behaviour, but they did nothing to address it. This made employees feel like they were not being supported, and it made the situation even worse.
