Pros

Some coworkers and good health insurance.

Cons

Worst company I have, and hopefully, will ever work for. Management is useless, one is a drunk, another one extremely dumb, and the other one is a witch, literally, a witch. Managers do not know how to treat their employees with respect, they will talk down to you, scream for no reason at all, and most of the times they are wrong and will still blame you for their mistakes. When interviewed, they described a job completely different to the one I actually had to do. Salaries are way too low for market and for everything they make us do. Honestly this place is not worth anyone’s time, and better to find another, because it is unhealthy to be surrounded by so many negative people who don’t even know how to do their job. Some managers are also very rude and racist, making negative comments about people’s cultures.

Pros

The Digital Group: - Offers some competitive salaries for developers in Seattle - Has some interesting technical challenges - The group has a warm, welcoming feeling - Digital Group managers are technically minded and seem committed to improving the platform through: - Adding automated testing and tools - Cleaning up technical debt - Recognizing strong contributors with promotions (and some raises)

Cons

Worst benefits I've ever seen: - No health until the 1st of the month FOLLOWING 75 days of employment (so ~76-90 days) - One may not take vacation/sick/personal time for the first 6 months - No 401K matching for a year (and their match is only 0.5% per percent up to a whopping 2%) - No stock options for a year (actually typical) As for the Digital Group itself: - The group is growing rapidly, and has reached the point that organization, management, and finding ownership of problems has broken down - The group has too many poor- and non-contributors on the team that take up space and get in the way of progress

Pros

Some really great people, especially among the senior engineers. Casual work environment. Low drama.

Cons

The application of scrum and other planning processes is hamfisted and dogmatic; Totally prevents the teams from improving themselves. Decisions are made either randomly, based on laziness, or using highest paid person's opinion. Using data or experiments to make decisions is barely given lip-service. They've not nailed down roles and responsibilities in any job role and almost completely lack the ability to remove the few toxic individuals or poor performers. Their hiring strategy is nonsense. Managers have hardly any autonomy, expectations, or defined responsibilities. Directors make up a big crony culture and play favorites. Meanwhile they don't develop their people or expect that of their reports.
