Pros

The benefits are affordable and easy to understand. Your sick/vacation days are available after the 90 day probationary period and you can start using accrued vacation after 6 months (you get 2 weeks per year). Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, upper management does a great job communicating goals and objectives and visits each station at least once per year. The community involvement when working in broadcast is amazing.

Cons

While starting pay is competitive, annual increases are far below the cost of living increases on an annual basis (standard 1.5 increase per year) - if your making 15/hour, that's .23 per hour BEFORE TAXES, most people will only see a $0.19 per hour increase. You are eligible for quarterly bonuses but in many markets the sales staff rarely makes budget and you don't get anything. I've worked in this position for 5 quarters and have yet to receive a bonus. If you aren't looking to work as a sales rep, it becomes nearly impossible to advance. Meaning, if you are in a position where stagnant financial growth is acceptable, you'll be happy here. If you want to grow, and gain financial security, your SOL. As an administrator or coordinator, your schedule is really at the mercy of the Sales Reps and Management. There are hours where you are idle, then at 4pm you get slammed.
