Pros
Benefits, networking, fast-paced. This is the television industry. Working in a news station never gets boring and constantly gives you something to talk about at the dinner table. The social media producer (or digital content manager, depending on the station) is centered on the website and social media platforms. If you already spend a lot of time on these, then the position is perfect! The digital team has great communication and means to help those at other stations! SBG is very focused on keeping their employees happy (and healthy!) by communicating.
Cons
Honestly working in media is meant for certain people. If you can't keep up with the news, follow a lead/news tip, then it isn't for you. The other con might be the constant moving between contracts and employee turnovers, but that's part of the industry and mostly applies to reporters.
