      You get to get a start in the TV biz

      Cons

      While I was there I witnessed a lot of bad activity from the production management cursing at pregnant women and telling lies about staff to other management pressuring the staff to donate money to charities that they sit on the board of. Really, really, really terrible place to work. Those who spoke up were punished harshly.

      Pros

      The sky is the limit for potential growth. Corporate level management is simply the best. Most Station Managers are likewise. They do broadcasting absolutely right. Virtually limitless resources. Wall Street loves them.

      Cons

      If you like the atmosphere and working conditions of a small, locally owned company that can simply make a split moment decision to change the way something is being done, SBG is not for you. Plus, there's a GM at a top 25 market that is alienating a % of the staff (as I witnessed first hand on multiple occasions) and Corporate mgmt is either oblivious or apathetic to it - I suspect it's the former as I feel they're too good at what they do for it to be the latter.

      Pros

      the management team at the local station was incredible, if not for them I probably would have left a long time ago. Great work/life flexibility, commission structure

      not a lot of advancement opportunities
