Pros

You can work with cool local businesses.

Cons

There is no company culture, and management is terrible. You will be promised far more money than what you will actually earn. After a few months here, you will feel unappreciated, degraded, and worthless. The poor management stems from corporate, and at Sinclair, you will always feel like just a number. Corporate does not prioritize the well-being of its employees. You will not receive any bonuses or performance raises. There is no opportunity for growth, and the sales team has a constant revolving door. There is no flexibility, and often we were told we couldn’t take a lunch break and were expected to work after hours. I do not recommend working here. Please do yourself a favor and continue your job search elsewhere.

Pros

Close-nit newsrooms, something new every day.

Cons

Don't care about mental health or well-being of employees, just want to crank out news. Will send MMJs to get vosots sometimes on top of already insane workload. MMJs do the job of 3 for the price of one.

Pros

You will be thrown into the fire, but hopefully you can be tempered by it. Challenging at best, burnout at worst. Being compartmentalized just means you're left alone and not micromanaged, until you are.

Cons

You will be thrown into the fire, repeatedly. Outside of handling the task at hand, you may as well be shoved into a closet with an occasional knock on the door to see if you still have a pulse. Lack of clear and effective direction means supervisors are being too hands-off or too hands-on.
