Pros

- You can get a lot of "experience" but it may not transfer to another job. - Offseason is slow and you can get time off easily - decently priced insurance benefits - I would suggest not working as a full time employee with the company

Cons

- just attempting to exit bankrupcy, which handcuffed the company - current managment is not at fault for bankrupcy. - corporate level mangement (manger/directors and above) are too interersted in empire building vs solving problems - no one in the company is willing to solve problems and implement solutions provided by the operational managers - pay is extremely poor. Communication between departments is poor at the corporate level. At the operational level communication is average.

Pros

Great people to work with. Very laid back environment.

Cons

Most promotions require the employree to relocate to another Six Flags park in another state. There were very few promotions at our smaller park.

Pros

Six flags will force you to develop people skills. Great for people who need to break out of a shell. On the job, friendliness is pretty much do-or-die. Good for scaring kids into pursuing a college degree. Access to tons of people, easiest way to make friends ever. If your location has people with a work visa, you can hang out with people from all over the world. Awesome if you want to lose some weight (I lost 20+ pounds in 2 months without trying) Discounts on stuffed animals, if you want one. Free access to the park whenever you don't have a shift. Relatively safe, very quick and easy access to security. Experienced supervisors and LEADs are very encouraging and supportive.

Cons

You'll be so stressed that you will lose a ton of weight LEADs (below managers, above hosts) have no sensitivity training. Often there are occurances of abuse and bullying toward hosts. Immense pressure is applied to LEADs by supervisors; then LEADs are forced to put pressure on hosts who were just yesterday their own peers. LEADs didn't get a pay raise when minimum wage went up. Barely made more than a host, with twice as many responsibilities. If you don't have your own transportation, it is hard to agree to extra hours last minute. Supervisors will often ask this of hosts. If you agree to extra hours, but must notify your ride, you might not even be allowed to go make a cell phone call. Hopefully you have the number memorised so you can call on a park phone! Internationals (people with work visas) have a contractual amount of hours. Locals don't. If it is a slow day, hosts from the USA will be sent home before an International will. It can be as many as 3 days in a row. Disrespectful guests are the ones whom you will see more than once a season! With any job that attracts a lot of teens, there is gossip and drama. People as far up as Supervisors will participate in it. Disappointing. Employees cannot come into the park and play any games where you win a prize. Depending on location, employees cannot leave for food during your break. Must eat cafeteria food, vending machine food, or bring from home.
