Cool to work at a amusement park and was given opportunities for employee get together activities on the weekends and certain free admission times

Cons

There were long shifts, way too hot, pay was minimum wage, was thrown into running a refreshment stand alone out in the blazing sun and summer all day

Pros

Flexible hours, the ability to schedule time and view schedule online, complimentary ticket for a friend when you want to visit the park. Reasonable uniform cost (even though they aren't made well). Company understands being green and giving back are important - even though it just helps with their image. You will make friends, it's like having comrades in a foxhole though. The connections I have made are truly wonderful friends. Good summer job if you just look to it as just a summer job.

Cons

Bullying bosses - teenagers who have some control on a power trip. Management that doesn't understand how to make the organization better. Not a place to launch a career, just somewhere to bide time really. Plus, the company is coming through bankruptcy and everyone is worried if they will have a job during the summer. Pay is also extremely poor, especially since most parks are located in major metropolitan areas. The pay can only work for teenagers or the roller coaster fans that want the job to ride the rides. Employee morale is very low at times dealing with the summertime heat and then receiving 30 minutes for your break, but having to walk 10-15 minutes to have access to your food (if you're lucky to have a locker) or eat "park food" from a cafeteria. Need healthier options for staff.
