A Visionary Company with Strong Employee Support

Pros

The company has a clear and inspiring vision and places a strong focus on employee well-being and support. They offer various Employee Resource Groups that engage and support employees in different areas. Continuous learning and professional development are highly encouraged, promoting a good work-life balance and healthy mental health habits. The company provides mental health half days before each holiday and has a no-meeting policy on Friday afternoons to help employees unwind. Inclusivity and diversity are prioritized, and the company offers competitive compensation and benefits packages. The work environment is collaborative and supportive, and management is open to feedback and continuously seeks improvement.

Cons

Some of the management focuses more on presence rather than actual delivery, which can be frustrating. Additionally, certain managers can be overbearing at times. The company structure can be quite complex, making it difficult to understand the different areas within the organization. There could be improved transparency and communication about the company structure and different roles within the company.

SKWD - Amazing Company

Pros

The Company is forward thinking from the inside out. From the Board, leadership, and every team member in between - we are a cohesive unit who collaborates together to make things happen. Leadership understands that people are the biggest asset in an organization, and they actually back it up, by providing an excellent work-life balance, remote work environment, competitive compensation, and benefits. Not to mention people are actually happy to work here! Which is a big deal and speaks volumes about a company. If you haven't gathered this yet, I am really happy and proud to be a part of SKWD (and no, no one paid me to write this lol). They (the people I work with and for) have earned my loyalty and that is no small feat. If you would like to work for a company where you are valued for all the intrinsic and diverse things that make YOU awesome, and that also helps you to develop those talents along the way, while working with a group of people who are passionate about values, integrity and quality of work, I highly recommend you check out SKWD.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is due to the excessive amount of growth the company has experienced since going public, at times the workload is excessive. But I believe this will be rectified in due time, it is just the usual growing pains of growing so quickly. And we want to keep growing, so we are all willing to put in the work, and work hard, to achieve our strategic vision and goals, together as a team.

Building the culture that drives success

Pros

Most companies talk about values but few are successful at establishing and living them. That’s even harder in a mostly remote environment. Skyward is finding the appropriate balance and realizing we are just as successful working where we are instead of being forced to an office everyday. The values drive our culture and even in the remote world, Skyward has worked extremely hard to deliver intentional communications, deliberate team summits and prioritizing an environment that continues to build this culture and company.

Cons

Really none that are noteworthy;
