Thank you for the 4-star review! It is great to hear that you enjoyed being part of our developer community. We agree that our passionate team members are what make this a special place to work. We appreciate your candid feedback regarding our tech stack. Working with legacy products in a complex industry often requires a balance between maintaining proven, stable systems and integrating newer technologies. We are always looking for ways to evolve our tools and processes, and input from developers like you is a key part of that journey. Thank you for your contributions to the team!

Pros

- Decent tech stack (depends on team, pray you get put into good product) - Great people - Willing to change (to some extent)

Cons

- Very low pay (depends on what statistic you want to look at, it is barely above average at best, and fairly below for most) - Wage compression even with the low wage, they have no respect for those that are working diligently other than half working "wall of fame", which is practically a popularity contest for most time - No bonus for those that are starting their career, bonus is not offered until you are more of senior role, but good luck getting to that position without losing motivation to work for this company. - Low career movement, they can't offer vertical progress for those who are just starting their career. - Management often don't own up to the issues, when problem occurs they are busy enforcing new ad hoc rule that barely anyone likes with most generic reasonings, then give themselves pat on the back. - While they boast about being Airbus company, they don't share same benefit (understandable), but they expect to same standard and policy. - Waterloo is not a land flowing with milk and honey like what they want to believe it to be, it's a middle of nowhere "tri-city" with only characteristic of it is that you have 3 education institute, and magically have one of the highest rent price (similar price as Mississauga, that is almost double the population of 3 cities combined), it is not worth for people to move from Toronto to Waterloo (which a lot of newer hires are coming from).

It’s unfortunate to hear you are not having a good experience here at NAVBLUE. While we embrace a speak up culture, we feel the feedback does not represent the full snapshot. In terms of compensation, we review this on an annual basis and recently introduced a job grading structure and leverage robust market salary surveys (Willis Towers Watson). We introduced a bonus program where 70% of employees are now bonus eligible. We understand junior developers are excluded from this, however, this is aligned with industry practice for many companies. Our focus is to help them develop their careers and will work closely with them to support a development plan. One example of this is the introduction of a new grad program where selected employees have been provided with a trip to Europe along with fully funded certifications such as AWS. They also rotate to different teams to round out their skillset and are exposed to different technologies which helps them understand their strengths. As you mentioned, one of our strengths is our ability to adapt to change. As a management team, we adapt to meet the goals of the organization which may include changes in process and structure. This is an iterative process where we measure and make decisions and will seek input from our development team to drive improvement. Perhaps there’s opportunity to improve our communication when these changes occur and at the same time embrace our speak up culture. We are proud to be part of the Airbus family. We receive several benefits such as employees being able to participate in purchasing Airbus shares at a fraction of the cost, worldwide mobility opportunities with support to relocate, stability and continuous investment from the Airbus board of directors. While there may be differences by entity with other benefits as is the norm for global companies, we strive to ensure we provide a fair and attractive program for all. As for the region of Waterloo, the Toronto Waterloo corridor is not uncommon and when combined is the largest tech sector in North America outside of the silicon valley. It’s home to over 15K tech companies and hosts other major companies. We do have an exceptional pipeline of students available. With that, we are upfront about our hybrid policy and do our best to give flexibility while ensuring employees have purpose when they come to the office. At NAVBLUE we strive to be a fair and equitable place of work that celebrates diversity and encourages internal growth. We encourage you to reach out to a member of the management team or HR to discuss your perspective further.
