not getting paid to do the higher level work

* Most people at work on a daily basis seem generally unhappy. No one talks during breaks or lunch. * Location in town is pretty remote, not much in the area as far as restaurants. If you are hourly, you can't take off anyways. * hourly people have to punch a physical clock. Really? Who does that anymore? Forcing adults to clock in and out for work and lunch has got to be one of the most micro-managing things you can do. I had to retrain myself to be a clock watcher. * Lots of complaints and criticism, not much thanks. Makes for a fairly negative work environment. * Long-time or favorited employees regularly get invited to off site lunches, special cook-outs, and other "team building" activities....while other employees are left out. Makes for an obviously bifurcated workforce environment. * 99% of my time was in a room with no one else there all day long. Very isolating. The only time someone appeared was when they needed something or had a complaint. A very good way to micromanage an employee. * Management loves censoring emails and text messages, correcting your language and telling you want you can say and can't say. Another form of micromanagement.
