      Best consulting firm I have ever worked for.. this is my third

      Pros

      Great culture, strong consultants and leadership that is involved at a local level. The clients are names known nationally and the projects are challenging. Most of all, they stay true to keeping people local and listening to the consultants.

      Cons

      Still has some growing pains. Slalom is moving from 8 local offices to being able to leverage capability nationally and it takes a little while, but they are making good strides.

      Be very cautious!!! No matter how long you have been there you may be laid off.

      Pros

      Work / life balance and social hours. Too bad the social times couldn't have been cut back instead of letting good people go.

      Cons

      During this economical time lay offs were kept hush hush of who and how many. Never a poor review ever and I got let go along with others. However during the same time salaried consulting directors were put out on billable jobs and consultants were let go.

      Pros

      if you are a consultant (i am not) this is the place to be. everything the organization does is geared towards consultant satisfaction.

      Cons

      typical growing pains of a local company becoming a national firm while keeping the culture that made it successful in the first place.
