Culture is everything. That might be the problem.

Pros

Supportive teams. There's a clear and easy path for growth and promotion. Work life balance is respected. Interesting and impactful growth.

Cons

I'm worried that our "culture" has infantilized our bench (which is ever growing) in that they don't have the tenacity nor 'scrappy' nature to compete in a shrinking market. Companies no longer are throwing cash, so I fear that "doing what's best for me" (a statement from a colleague) is not, and should not, be the motto going forward. Feedback is given but not implement. Most issues are solved by having a meeting and then never revisited until there's escalation. A common theme through corporate America, but the "nice" culture here encourages procrastination (i.e very non confrontational). Avoiding politically charged word choice (there's other comments referencing the 'wokeness' that I don't necessarily disagree with) I think we need to start looking at our ERGs through the lens of a company in hard economic times. It's frustrating seeing money shelled out for women's history month etc when we know, and have been communicated with, regarding curbing spending. No one wants to say anything for fear of being scolded, but we all have compassion fatigue. It's hard to support a new cause/event authentically especially paralleled to record inflation.

Lack of opportunity & increasingly obvious pay inequity

Pros

Remote work. Work life balance is respected. A lot of independence.

Cons

Little to no accountability for pay equity. Obvious gaps in pay between men and women (men of lower levels make more than women in higher levels). Lack of room for growth, learning new skills, or emphasis on development. Leaders say that we are a "fiercely human" organization but then rarely show how they value their #1 product.. their people. I wouldn't recommend working here, at this point.

Pros

-Really cool people who are doing really cool things -A hotbed of creativity -Opportunities to learn and stretch yourself

Cons

-What is scoped typically isn't what is delivered, often a gap in what is communicated to the consultant and what the client wants -Or, shifting scope that causes confusion for consultants -Lack of the right kind of guidance and preparation going into stints -Hyper pressure with 4-5 managers including the client
