Pros

Great culture and work-life balance. Cannot rave enough about the community and great people. There is a niche for everyone at Slalom. Also - paid to do pro-bono consulting and volunteering with local nonprofs. Paid annual weekend trip with colleagues to great destinations. No travel, local model.

Cons

The leadership team can seem a bit like a college frat. Also, Slalom lacks a point-of-view in many industry verticals and aren't seen as experts compared to competitors, whether its utilities, retail, or health care / life sciences. There isn't enough thought leadership, which would be expected/normal at other consulting firms.

This is John Tobin. Thank you for taking some time to share your thoughts. I appreciate you recognizing and calling out our culture. As you probably know, our Inclusion program is something that has gained a lot of traction over the last couple of years at Slalom. Our training around "Widening the Circle" has been well received as we roll this out to the whole company. This speaks to embracing everyone as their true self (including being an introvert or extrovert) In terms of bringing more thought leadership, especially from a industry stand-point, I think we also see that as a good opportunity for us as well. Feel free to reach out to me via email, should you want to discuss any of this further. if you have feedback that you'd like to share anonymously, please complete this short survey at any time: http://slalom.ws/anonsurvey. Thanks!

Pros

Good place if you're a people person who likes different engagements and doesn't question the status quo.

Cons

Big place. Easy to get lost. Need to fight hard and consistently to have opinions heard. Having them heard may not be in your best interest.

This is John Tobin. Having been here as the first consultant, it's still a little hard for me to think of Slalom as "Big Place". I work hard to connect with people from all of our offices and I am consistently impressed with how similar we feel from a culture and values perspective. I would encourage you to find your people here and provide feedback to the leaders that you interact with on a more regular basis. I believe the more you connect with folks, the less it will feel big. If you want to provide additional feedback, simply email me at johnt@slalom.com to figure out a time to connect.
