Slalom is the most cliquey company I have ever worked for, hands down. You're either part of the clique, or you're an outcast. Consider participation in optional office events to be mandatory if you want to get promoted. Don't fall for the spiel that Slalom is different than any other consulting firm, other than maybe work-life balance. You will be asked to ghost hours if a project runs afoul -- negatively impacting your bonus -- and your leadership won't have your back. The local operating model can be a career killer if you come to Slalom with previous industry or consulting experience. Don't be surprised when you end up on a project that has nothing to do with your area of expertise -- you are just a warm body and you will be staffed as such.
