But let’s also address your Cons. Organization and clarity are relative things. Both relative to one's expectations and relative to each other. One person's sense of disorder might be felt by someone else as excitement or opportunity. Or it might be unintentional or an oversight – that’s entirely possible, too. Either is acceptable, because we are trying to do something a bit different. And that’s where clarity comes in. We need to be clearer about this desire for progress. We are absolutely and intentionally trying new things. With the guidance, core values and collaboration of the national organization, we’re helping to evolve some aspects of Slalom’s organizational framework. We don’t want to be different than Slalom, we want to be different WITH Slalom. Our method is ongoing. It’s experimental. It’s iterative. So as long as we’re clear about where we’re going, I hope we can all find the energy to put forth a hypothesis and run with it. If not, then I hope we can find the comfort and patience in trusting each other to mind the gap. Deciding where to go, and what to leave behind is easy. Deciding how we’re going to get there is hard.
