Pros

A growing, successful tech company. Convenient way to get your foot in the door in the industry. Good for entry-level experience. Fast-paced, cool office, perks similar to other tech companies in the area. The company attracts motivated, hard-working employees. Free soda.

Cons

High turnover. Low job satisfaction. Below market rate compensation. Nepotism. Lack of upward mobility. High levels of management that seem to encourage and reward toxic behavior.

Great if you're entry-level

Pros

Most of the people and mid-to-VP-level management seem to actually care about what's happening and what they're striving for. The product is truly one of the best in the market.

Cons

The company hires like they're an entry-level organization, which reflects in the kind of talent that they have on the various teams. Granted, this isn't a comment on the intelligence or potential of these folks -- purely their experience. But if the company is trying to position itself as enterprise-ready, they need to truly act like it. Offering unlimited PTO sounds great to the uninitiated, but the majority of us who've been in the industry know that this is rather standard these days and doesn't compensate for low salaries. This isn't sustainable for keeping the truly experienced and talented contributors. And clients catch onto this pretty quick over time, especially when it comes to the turnover. Smarsh has been around too long to not have caught onto this and to be acting like an adolescent start-up vs a fairly well-established industry-leader.

Pros

Lots of resources and products to help you sell.

Cons

Lots of back-end development has slowed the rate of product releases.
