Pros

1. Got to work on few new technologies 2. Their code base is huge and sometimes redundant. If you really like to optimize in terms of time and space - you have gold here. 3. Moving towardssome cool advanced technologies 4. Leaders are transparent to employees wrt company goals and direction 5. You can work and take direction and ownership if you show mettle 6. HR team and director are nice people. HR is on the "human" side of resources , unlike other companies where you have no clue or touch in person with the HR. 7. Some really nice techincal people to work with and learn from provided you get a chance to work with them 8. Finest product in the compliance segment, they give value to employees techincal feedback, work on always including the best practices like TDD, one of the best agile transformation I have ever seen.

Cons

1. My manager came into the role recently‌, and I would like to give a benefit of doubt here that he might learn what not to do overtime. But for me his micro management and cunningness with words were stifling. As well he was insecure and slightly rude. 4. Manager was too rigid with things that don't matter. It's agile but you have to always attend meetings in person and would not budge on moving stand up time by 15 mins(Bengaluru traffic !!). Neither he took the responsibility to introduce me to the team nor he ever bothered to take feedbacks in the mid year/check on how things are going. Infact I was sent out a mail for taking some 15 work from homes in one year(365 days, yes I many times worked on Saturday and sometimes Sunday too) 5. Colleagues were mostly into their groups. A definite no for a person like me who is in between ambivert and extrovert. I was alone almost all the time I was there - couldn't hack it for more than 15 months 6. Have heard of some firings in other teams. But in my opinion development and QE are safe as long as you work and show results 7. Some of the colleagues are rude for no reason and some who settle here with family have some superiroity feeling and are hard to deal with. 8. There will be team outings and events - my manager made it mandatory to attend or apply leave if not attending. There's no in between if for some reason you can't /don't want to attend. That's weird. 9. If you clear all techincal rounds yo are mostly in - I feel behavioral check is not done much and that led to one person getting hired who at different points in time but almost everyday hamper productivity by small talk while working/ belittling others and too much intrusion into private life/excessive interest in the work that others do, which he kept asking details for during work hours.

There is a lot of good information you shared with us. Thank you! We appreciate the compliments (especially that we are "human" in HR). I will pass along the information on what we should be watching and what makes the work environment challenging.

Pros

The company had quickly responded to the current situation and declared work from home keeping the employee wellbeing in mind. Manager is very supportive during this crisis and ensure daily stand up meeting is conducted, so that there is no slippage by the team. There is a sense of responsibility and our productivity has increased due to the trust shown by the management. There are some specific benefits rolled out by Smarsh management to help us during this time.

Cons

Collaboration between various team needs to be improved

These are strange times and I am glad you feel supported. We are working hard to clearly communicate and our Smarshians are doing GREAT in their remote working environments.
