      Great teams, not so great management with a lack of transparency

      Pros

      The marketing team in particular is a brilliant bunch, and I'm grateful to have worked with so many great workers. Was definitely staying for the people more than anything else.

      Cons

      Though working with teams and collaboration were my favorite parts of the job, the way I was handled upon departing the company was extremely sudden and cold, and went against the expectations that were given to me. Top management can benefit from learning to treat their employees and any departing members more warmly in advance. Also, huge lack of transparency around most things.

      Toxic work environment

      Pros

      The technology is good for regulated companies.

      Cons

      Lots of egg breaking going on over there. They are on a mission to make things better but in the process they have created in unstable hostile work environment. Have to go to market team is in a constant state of flux and the ongoing introspection of rolls makes for an unstable and unsafe work environment.

      Product quality is taking a back seat to moving money around

      Pros

      The focus over the last few years has been on acquiring new companies to meet a certain metric. Due diligence seems to be non existent. The companies being acquired are absolute garbage fires. We don't even use the products we own at this point, which is just embarrassing. If you are a founder with a 20 year old garbage pile, K1 would be happy to force Smarsh to buy it from you.

      Cons

      No innovation is happening here, so if you are technical, avoid this place like the plague. It's a constant race to the bottom. Raises are sad and bonuses are a joke.
