Pros

Good Starting Point and for your first job, I guess Easy interview CEO (Matthew Smart) is a good guy

Cons

Company Culture went downhill fast after COVID restrictions Low Pay even after years of staying with the company No way to advance your job prospects After the initial learning period of the programming languages, you have to learn everything in your own time

Pros

The guy (not Mathew Smart) running the office was extremely cool. Great guy. I never interacted with the actual CEO *Some* of the people there were very cool (see more in the cons). Free lunch one day a week Flexible schedule Was able to work with a bit of new tech, to expand my skill set. They are definitely inclusive / no discrimination.

Cons

The office in Vegas at least, has the lowest pay in the industry there is. There's no benefits at all and nowhere to advance to. You have to go outside and walk 30 seconds to the toilet. No in-office privacy. The open floor plan design has been proven to be a failure. Invest in better accommodations. People yell across the office or make weird loud noises. Very distracting. I took the job as a stop-gap because I moved to town for another job that ended up being delayed for a while. SMS will hire almost anyone who can pass an extremely easy screening test. The downside to such a low bar of entry is very low pay. This office is a place for beginners - first jobs. There's nothing wrong with that, just don't expect to make a career here. Stay only as long as you need to before finding another job. As it turned out, the job I moved to town for ended up folding. I immediately started interviewing and quickly found another job that paid slightly more than double. My current position pays just a bit less than triple. Beyond that, some of the long timers are seriously on the spectrum and need a very harsh lesson in social interactions / how to handle and speak to people. Getting a bit of "authority" gives some people a chance to make up for however they were treated in school by others because they're pencil neck skinny, disgustingly obese and don't shower, or turned on by My Little Pony - or whatever weird thing got them ostracized / bullied at the time. If any of these people popped off the same way with a person who didn't want to risk losing their job, they'd end up seriously regretting it. But they would never dare. So if you're bad at tolerating that kind of thing, this might not be the best place to work. It happens a lot.
