Pros

We're a small and extremely lean team that produces a fin-tech product that helps people make BIG financial decisions, working here means you get to work on a product that makes a difference! We're giving people advice on things like buying a house and saving up for retirement through our patent-pending technology. It's pretty cool to work at a company that has some patents in the works. A few of the other pros include: Surrounded by intelligent people Everyone works really hard Small teams means more opportunity for growth and an ability to take ownership of projects Catered lunch 3x a week Health and dental insurance 401k Weekly happy hours Monthly team-wide social outings (bowling, karaoke, but you're not forced to sing!, St. Patty's Day is a big deal)

Cons

While SmartAsset is 4 years old, the company still feels very much like a startup, which means wearing multiple hats. Pro for some; con for others... The company has grown very fast in a short amount of time, and the communication across teams is catching up. A lot is expected of employees. It can be intense at times, but name a workplace that is not!

Pros

The role is exactly as advertised. It is a high volume full sales cycle role and the good part is financial advisors are sales people themselves so they understand where you're coming from. Everyone is willing to help from peers on your own team to others in different departments.

Cons

It is high volume, that is advertised but some days when you have a lot of meetings or other work it can be difficult to hit the output that is expected.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We’re glad to hear the role has aligned with what was advertised and that you’ve felt supported by your peers and teams across the organization. Collaboration and cross-team connection are core to how we work, so it’s great to see that reflected in your day-to-day. We appreciate you calling out the high-volume nature of the role as well. While we work to be upfront about expectations during the hiring process, we also know some days come with more meetings or administrative work that can make output feel harder to balance. Feedback like this is incredibly helpful as we continue to refine our training, tools, and processes to better support AEs in managing that workload. Thanks again for sharing your perspective — and for everything you bring to SmartAsset. We’re glad you’re here!
