Alot of work comes and goes. They wont fire you but they will stop overtime often. They change schedules every few years and if your coming in new to nails or screws be prepared to work night shift for a long time. Noone is going anywhere so you can be on nightshift for sometimes ten years while you wait in line for a dayshift position. Then to come to dayshift is solely based on seniority in your position. The last bad part is you never realy feel comfortable where u are going to be working. Like you will be moved around from cell to cell or from building to building. If you are looking to move up from being machinist forget about it there is no moving up for you. ive asked and tried for years and it is not happening for anyone.
