Pros

As an engineer in corporate, it is very true that this company takes quality very, very seriously. It was nice to work for someone that, while cost does matter, you can spend more than other companies to be sure you are the best. The people in the engineering group are great, mostly all car-people to some level, everyone gets along reasonably. The entry pay is acceptable. Right on national average. Work-life balance in the engineering group is good. There are times where you have to put long days in, but they are fairly rare.

Cons

The benefit structure of Snap-on is old school. The vacation accrual is 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks at 5 years, then accrual every 3-5 years from there. not terrible, but very slow. There is no new parent leave, you take unpaid time off, ladies can file short term disability. Health insurance is OK, no HSA option, EPO plan is very expensive. The culture is OK, but generally you are promoted on attrition. While the entry pay is agreeable, they give raises like any other corporation.
