Good start, no growth opportunities
Pros
- Standard health benefits included for yourself. - Gym stipend of $30 (not the most generous like other startups but it's there). - Cell Phone Reimbursement up to $75. - Catered Lunch on Tuesday/Thursdays, Happy Hour Fridays. - Stocked kitchen with snacks, Coffee/Mocha machine (meh), soda's and energy drinks. - Good location for CalTrain and lots of downtown San Mateo Eateries. - Overall this MIGHT be a good job to gain first time experience for newbies in their field but be cautious of long term growth and empty promises of growth. - Great boss, great colleagues, etc. No complaint's with them.
Cons
- No set yearly evaluations, your VP or Director would need to vouch for it, even then HR has to approve it and you may have to wait MONTHS still. - HR lags terribly slow - getting the rolling on things. - No guaranteed parking for new employee's if you drive. - Some veteran employee's will get a garage parking pass worth $150 a month but those who take CalTrain don't get $150, we still have to use wage works and pay out of pocket with "tax free" dollars. - Company Culture is not the best, everyone seems to be in their own groups/departments and the happy hour is not a real happy hour in my opinion -they aren't fun. - Empty promises for growth and opportunity and compensation. Make sure you get things in writing before signing on board - that was my mistake. - Shake-up in upper management in 2016. Potential Employee's - beware!
