Pros

The company is scaling quickly and it’s an amazing time to be there. They work with some really impressive clients, and the CEO is genuinely inspiring, very hands on, approachable, and supportive. I personally had a lot of guidance when closing my first deal, which gave me huge confidence. There’s real opportunity to learn fast, grow your career, and make an impact.

Cons

Like any scale up, the pace and demands are high. If you haven’t worked in a start up or fast growth environment before, it can feel like a shock to the system at first.

Pros

The company is growing fast. Since the seed round, revenue has doubled, and the key product metric, design-ins, has grown exponentially since the company launched. It feels good to work on something that’s actually making an impact in the industry. One thing people might not realize is how long most of the team has been here. The average tenure is over four years, which is almost unheard of for a VC-backed startup. In the newly established US team, there have been a couple of hires that didn’t work out, but the core team is very stable and has been here for years and the hiring process has improved significantly in the last year. AI is beginning to play a critical part in Electronic Manufacturing and SnapMagic is at the tip of the spear. Manufacturers, Distributors, Designers, and Millions of Electrical Engineers are all working with SnapMagicPay is competitive for the stage, and there’s a ton of room to take ownership and grow. The CEO sets a very high bar, but she also leads by example, which pushes the team to keep leveling up.

Cons

SnapMagic is not a laid-back place, the pace is fast and the expectations are high, so it’s not for everyone. But if you like responsibility and want to grow quickly, you’ll thrive here.

Thank you for your feedback. We noticed you removed your prior 5-star reviews when adding this new one. We're sorry your perceptions changed at the end of your multi-year journey with us. We are committed to building a world-class software team. In terms of priorities, we encourage engineers to share feedback on their workloads in 1:1s. We invite them to propose priorities for sprints based on their observations of the code. To address technical debt, we have "Fix it Friday". Engineers can work on what they want that day, including refactoring. To keep improving our team's skills, we invest in technical mentorship via Plato and dev courses via Platzi. We run leadership programs, book clubs, and wellness events. We also run a team survey every quarter, and take immediate action on feedback. That said, we are always improving. We will take your feedback into account as we continue making improvements in 2022.
