Pros
I'm a current software engineer that started at SnapStream out of undergrad. The dev team is a tight group with a great strategy for delivering meaningful features to customers while allowing the developers to gain expertise in all areas of the tech stack. The codebase is clean and easy to get a grip on while still being complicated enough to be interesting, and since the team is relatively small with a short communication pipeline to the customers, the new features always have clear motivations and customers who will use them. It's also very easy for me to get help or a second opinion on anything I'm working on. The culture is very relaxed. No one is checking when I arrive or leave, the kitchen is super well stocked with snacks and meals, and there are frequent well-attended workplace social events. It's a great way to get a startup-like experience in Houston while still being comfortable and confident with the financial future of the company.
Cons
Since the company structure is pretty flat, if you're looking for career-growth-by-title then you probably won't have much luck. That being said, there's plenty of opportunity to grow in skill and responsibility, as well as develop yourself away from the computer by traveling to meet with customers. Unlike some larger companies, there's not necessarily something for every type of interest (e.g. hardcore data science, certain design patterns, plenty of front-end technologies)

Pros
One of my favorite things about SnapStream is that the code I write directly influences and helps our clients. It is a great feeling to see a feature I've implemented as the highlight of one of our blog posts or to hear from a colleague about how our clients are excited for it. There are a huge variety of problems to solve and I am not stuck only working on one aspect of our product. Instead I get to do full stack programming and I've learned a ton while doing so. Our senior developers are amazing and are an excellent source of knowledge when Stack Overflow fails to deliver. We have continuous integration, an excellent suite of unit tests, and a top notch QA team. If you have an expertise outside of general programming, SnapStream will try to give projects that can tie your expertise and the SnapStream product together. SnapStream really pampers the developers. I have two 27 inch 1440p monitors, a huge desk, and a high powered PC. Both the hours and the dress code are relaxed. There are snacks in the kitchen and plenty of great places to eat nearby. There is a nice emphasis on fitness. SnapStream provides gym memberships and a weekly personal trainer.
Cons
My computer is too fast to use compiling as an excuse to slack off. On a more serious note, SnapStream has been around for over a decade, but still has that startup feeling. Personally, I really enjoy it, but I know that the startup culture is not for everyone.
