Pros

Unlimited sacks and drinks! Employee benefits and plan!

Cons

Micromanagement to the mole. Directors who doesn't know how to lead and manage. Metric score cards that are unattainable and not achievable. Will work you to the limit, pressure you, and then let you go, so they can recycle you for new hires -

My "Personal" Nightmare

Pros

Opportunity to work 50-60 hours weekly (with little to zero appreciation). Some bosses will make it easier than others to take paternity leave. If you get a good manager then overall SoFi is good for a job, at least for a year or two. You get to learn more about yourself and what you do not want in an employer.

Cons

I am writing this not out of spite or anger, just sharing my personal experience. It was stressful, it was a beat down every month, it was sad not being able to spend as much time as I should have with the little one in consequence to the extra hours and the disorganization when it came to distribution of work within the team. If you complain about doing too many hours, they will tell you to do less, but when the quality of the work drops because you don’t have those extra 10-20 hours to review or to get more detailed information they will raise hell and complain. They have zero respect for your personal time, and everything seems to always be in flames and burning so it requires your full attention even after work hours (Got worse every month, cannot imagine how much worse it will get now that they are going public). There were times I was receiving requests at 8PM. Management based on my experience is bad at almost every level. They are concerned with themselves only and if you bring up an issue and it gets addressed you can feel extremely lucky and you might as well sing HALLELUJA, and if you don’t like the culture or what’s going on they prefer you to leave then address the issue. Management is all about self preservation and could care less about those below them (based on my personal experience), also don’t expect transparency or honesty (One week you will be told one thing, and the next it is the complete opposite).

Toxic culture

Recommend

Pros

Some nice people Does have some potential if it could get out of it's own way

Cons

This is by far the most toxic place I've ever worked. Leadership doesn't care about the people. That's fine if you weren't claiming to be striving for "the best culture in the world." Here's how you build culture: do what you say. You say we're family yet you treat people poorly. That's not family.

Thank you for sharing your candid thoughts with us. We absolutely care and it's important to us to hear your feedback. We know we're on thin ice with you, but we'd like to encourage you to give us another shot and share your concerns with Anna Avalos, our Head of People. We care deeply about our employees. While we're striving to create the best culture in the world, we need your help to better understand where we are falling short. Thank you in advance!
