Pros

From Day 1 I have received such a warm welcome from every employee I've met at SoFi. I really feel like my voice is heard and my opinions are valued. I feel my role is very much needed to help propel the company forward, and that I will be able to add a lot of value and make a positive impact. The remote onboarding experience was better than I expected. I had a 1:1 IT set up with the team, which was so helpful given the remote working environment. The actual content was a good mix of high level and in the weeds - focused on company history, leadership, values, etc. Very much focused on the members and the mission of the company.

Cons

Not a ton, so far! The Day 1 onboarding could have been a bit more interactive, but it's tough during COVID! You definitely need to have a growth mindset here and feel comfortable with a lot of autonomy. Since the company is relatively small, you need to figure things out on your own...I like that type of environment so it's not a con, but something for others to be aware of.

Pros

The culture is quite decent. People here are productive, but not being worked to death (at least in my group). There is a good understanding of WLB. Everyone in general is helpful and trying to contribute to a good product. The product/services offerings have a great potential for positive impact.

Cons

SoFi has a good eye/culture towards keeping their tech the biggest advantage over the traditional competitors, but they do struggle to move quickly like smaller startups sometimes. There is some amount of tech debt to catch up on, but the teams are doing their best to adapt. My understanding is that a lot of the tech debt is from a few years ago where there was a shake-up in personnel going all the way up to the top.
