Pros

It's great to work at a fast-paced company with a strong mission to shake up the banking industry and provide a better experience for customers. Co-workers are great and I've also had the opportunity to travel and meet many SoFi members (customers) who are very passionate about what SoFi is doing. I'm getting a lot of business development experience and am really able to see the direct impact my work has on my department. I also have a lot of autonomy and flexibility within my job. Definitely see opportunity for growth in the future. Hard work is rewarded. Free lunches and gym membership are also a plus.

Cons

Moving really fast - a lot here changes quickly - if you aren't able to be flexible and adapt this probably isn't the place for you.

Pros

Free lunch with beautiful view of Golden Gate, fun/outgoing coworkers and good benefits. Mike Cagney the CEO is a good guy as well.

Cons

I cannot speak for the rest of the company, but in the Loan Operations department they will work you to the bone and spit you out. They frame the work/life balance as a way to make "unlimited money" but they fail to mention that this overtime is mandatory & keeps increasing...even after many attempts to point out the toll it takes on their employees. The minimum work week is 50 hours. I truly felt like a cog in the machine where no one valued the individual talent that I (or my colleagues) brought to the table. All about the numbers....to the point where managers told us to "stay in our seats" and "stop talking to one another." I had more freedom in high school and college!
