A roller coaster of highs and lows

Pros

My immediate team were compromised of hardworking, considerate, and talented individuals. My manager and senior VP were great at supporting and providing challenging and access to strategic initiatives.

Cons

There was lack of clarity across the organization on initiatives, what teams were focused on, and what teams should be owning what work. There was a lot of pressure to perform and deliver with lean teams and little resources.

Great culture and opportunities to grow with support

Pros

SoFi is one of the best if not THE best company I've ever worked for. Smooth recruiting process - knowledgeable and transparent recruiters, quick decision making without a drawn out process. Management on the People team is incredible - they come with a ton of experience, provide support and opportunities to grow. Clear role expectations. Love the company's core values and mission - I really feel I'm making a difference for our clients and members. Great work-life balance (requires setting boundaries, communicating up/down/across, effective prioritization). Ton of employee experiences and programming available. LOVE the hybrid work schedule with flexibility to work onsite when works best for you and the team. Feel confident in Senior Leadership and future state of the business.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but calling out the need to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work setting and with team members across a variety of departments and time zones. Additionally, we use several applications so need to quickly familiarize with tools/ resources to move projects forward. Delicate balance between attending meetings and setting enough time to work independently. No 401K match. Unlimited PTO can be a little tricky to determine the appropriate amount of time to take off without pushing limits with the business (I work better with structure/ want to ensure I am taking enough time).
