      Great time to join a FinTech (Amazon of Finance) company that is just getting started

      Pros

      •⁠ ⁠We are not similar to other FinTech companies and is uniquely positioned by building a one stop shop financial product for the immediate everyday financial needs of every individual. Product is the MOAT. •⁠ ⁠Moves fast like a typical (this could be a pro/con). How it's viewed matters. •⁠ ⁠TAM is very huge and penetration is low. So a lot of products to develop. •⁠ ⁠Engineering culture is solid and is changing per evolving financial landscape to stay competitive. •⁠ ⁠Adoption of Generative AI tools for productivity gains is happening similar to other tech companies which is good in long term. •⁠ ⁠Pushes heavily for away team model work when needed. That could benefit in delivering fast that provides business value but comes at a cost. •⁠ ⁠Been in a hiring spree for some time. •⁠ ⁠There are many talented engineers that are constantly pushing the engineering bar.

      Cons

      •⁠ ⁠FinTech means regulations, compliance etc which can slow down engineering work. •⁠ ⁠Coding standards in some teams are not up to enterprise industry standards. But it's typically the nature with similar companies who are moving faster to find PMF. •⁠ ⁠Doesn't operate as a tech company but finance.

      Great people, meaningful projects and good benefits.

      As the company matured, it become less and less of a start up which was sad.
