Business Outlook

Pros

Serving the public and making a difference

Cons

Poor leadership and poor culture. Not focused on public service but themselves and looking good to others. A lot of internal problems like bullying and discrimination and supervisors who don’t care about the public. Too much pressure to achieve public service indicators. Not enough employees to handle claims and interviews.

Hard to Get Fired

Pros

Decent pay with flexible hours. Vacation, Sick Leave, and training.

Cons

Management is very poor and no experience in their title. Extreme favoritism for promotions no matter how hard you work and your yearly evaluation. Nepotism is rampant with generations of family and friends. Decisions are made fast without thinking, extremely reactive and not proactive. If you are thinking about starting a career here I would look into a State job with better retirement incentives. There is extreme waist of government money, for example I see thousands of dollars of equipment never used and then trashed. I only work in one department so this is millions of dollars waisted nation wide.

Pros

- Paid training -Opportunity for recent graduates to enter government employment.

Cons

-You are trained one way then asked to do the job in a different manner. Feels like you wasted your time doing the 9 month training. - Used scare tactics on trainees that created a environment that was not conductive to learning the job. -Many lack professionalism.
