Toxic work culture

Pros

Healthcare and paid time off

Cons

Training is insufficient for the position. Mentors do not want assist in on the job training. I was told I had to be “hazed up” during training. Work culture is a mixture of Nepotism and cover your butt politics. Management is desperate for a check with no moral compass; they take no issue with lying on employees. The pay is not enough for the stress.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Kind and professional coworkers. Interesting work.

Cons

Return to the office and work at SSA HQ. Inflexible management rules from upper management.

Pros

once you are out of training (at least 9 months) the job is fairly independent. Your bosses give you your assignment and you just get it done. depending on the budget, there's typically a lot of opportunities for overtime.

Cons

The BA workload is heavy and the training is intense. Typically it either clicks for you or it doesn't, and if it doesn't most likely you will struggle. There is pressure to move work and if you struggle that can take a toll; job security is rock solid but overall satisfaction is low as evidenced by the dramatic drop of SSA’s ranking in recent annual employee surveys. Similar work at other agencies is paid at higher grade levels; SSA has historically put employees in lower grades than other agencies for similar work,
